A sewing pattern is a template that you trace onto fabric before cutting and sewing. It’s essentially a quick and easy way to replicate shapes and styles of garments without all the guesswork.
If you love a certain style of blouse or dress, save yourself loads of time by using a sewing pattern so you can get it right, first time around
We all know that it can be daunting and a little scary when you open your first sewing pattern.
Each pattern has a unique number to identify the design. Most pattern envelopes will also show pictures of a model wearing the garment options and styles so you can understand how the finished product is supposed to look.
Some pattern brands may also include drawings for the main features like pockets, sleeves and seams that can be made using the variations (known as the views)
Additionally, most patterns can be multi-sized and will contain patterns for two sizes that crossover - e.g 10-12.
