What is polycotton?

Polycotton is a fabric created by a composition of both polyester and cotton. Mixing these two materials together creates a fabric with the benefits of both components. Polycotton has the advantages of being soft, like cotton, but unlike cotton, it is more durable and crease-resistant thanks to the added polyester. We supply a range of both 65% polyester 35% cotton and 80% polyester 20% cotton to match your tailoring needs.

Polycotton uses and applications

Due to its durability, comfort and breathability, polycotton material is frequently used to create bedding and clothing. Polycotton sheeting and clothing have the added advantage of requiring less ironing, as the material is slightly stiffer and less likely to wrinkle.

A popular face mask material

During the time of COVID-19, facemasks have deemed an essential part of living (and fashion!) in the UK. Being a breathable, tight-woven fabric that is easy to work with, polycotton is a popular choice for creating re-usable facemasks. Choose from our range of printed polycotton material to jazz up your facemask, or stick to plain and simple colours. Read our post for instructions on how to make a face mask and guidance on keeping it clean.
